Thanks.  That's interesting.  My Resmed hose and PR mask have entirely different internal pin-and-slot types of arrangements.  In practice it doesn't matter all that much because the silicone shroud on the end of the hose seals against the plastic of the connector, as it should: that overrides everything else.  But I assumed that there was a slight manufacturer-specific kind of thing going on there.
