RE: New to CPAP, need help understanding SleepyHead data
Hi AI, yes, still here. So far the range of 6 to 15 is working pretty well. With EPR=0 the CAs have all but disappeared. When I sleep on my sides the auto-set generally sits at 6 with brief blips to 7 or 8 and an AHI of 1-3. When I sleep on my back the pressure runs 12 to 15 with more obstructive type events (OA, H, RE, FL, VS, VS2). Now that I'm reviewing the data, it looks like I might need to raise the max a little.
I still haven't solved the problem of back sleeping. On my to-do list is to try either a wedge pillow or a cervical collar. There's lots of good information here about both, I just need to set aside a block of time to research it.
I'll just add that although it was extremely difficult to adjust to the CPAP, and not sleeping right for the first two weeks really took a toll on my quality-of-life, now after three months it's no big deal to sleep with the mask on and I'm pleased to find myself waking up feeling refreshed more often than before. Not all the time, but overall I think it's helping.
Thanks for following up. This forum is a great resource and I've already recommended it to others.
