RE: New to board; please help me prepare for my appointment with sleep specialist
You're introducing a new system, which modifies your breathing. It can take weeks or months for your body and brain to adapt to that new situation, so definitely not something to worry about if you wake up sometimes.
Caveats: I'm just a patient, with no medical training.

Congrats on the successful split study. That is the best way to get it done, and will reduce delay in getting started. You have a snapshot of pressure that worked, just don't accept that 12 cm is what will work every night, every hour, or that the features of an auto CPAP with EPR won't prove useful. You will get a prescription for CPAP. Asking for that to be auto CPAP or specify the Resmed Autoset and include the heated tube will save you frustration in dealing with the DME. Now is time to check on in-network DMEs and find out what percentage is covered. Keep in mind any prices you are quoted probably wont reflect the negotiated prices with insurance, and your actual copay or deductible may be less than you think.

Sleeprider snuck it in. We PREFER the ResMed Airsense 10 AutoSet because we see better results and ResMed's interpretation of EPR allows it to better treat those things that are best treated with Pressure Support (as offered on a biLevel, a higher level machine) up 20 3 cmw. These include Hypopnea, Flow Limitations, RERAs, Snores and UARS.
Don't worry about what these mean right now, just that you want an "AutoSet". Note that ResMed is often refered to as "AirSense 10" but that is a model line with 4 models and you want an "AutoSet" if at all possible (and it is VERY possible)

I'm so glad to hear you have a clear diagnosis and a mask you can work with. As slowriter says, using the machine and mask is an adjustment, even if you tried out something similar earlier -- plus sleeping in a sleep lab is not exactly conducive to unbroken zzzs.
And just to underline what the experts have said, you really, really REALLY want a ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset -- every word in that mouthful counts. Don't accept anything else. I look forward to hearing how things go from here. Keep us posted, would you?

RE: New to board; please help me prepare for my appointment with sleep specialist
The sleep center just emailed me to let me know that they canceled my appointment with the sleep doctor. I have no idea why. In any case, they will be sending their report to my internist and she will probably prescribe whatever I ask her to prescribe. How does this look?

Good list, though I had the impression you liked the FF mask you used in the sleep study. If you liked it then, maybe start with it at home?

It looks like there are two different kinds of the ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset. Which one should I get?

Oops! I definitely want the full face mask. I listed the wrong mask! Thank you for catching my error.
I think this is the right one: [commercial link to commercial DME website removed, instead search cpapdirect for 'Dreamwear full face mask"] -----

RE: New to board; please help me prepare for my appointment with sleep specialist
My CPAP gives me good results but I alway wake up at least once a night. Sometimes I’ll wake up an hour or so after going to sleep. Usually I’ll go back to sleep quickly. If I wake up later — say 3am —it sometimes takes me an hour or more to get back to sleep. I don’t think any of this is CPAP related. It’s just the way I sleep.
I use nasal pillows. I have tried a full face mask but roll around too much creating major leaks.
