New to forum and have question
Hello All, am new to the forum and have a question. I’ve been getting apnea episodes just as I’m falling asleep and it startles me awake.. I have been losing a great deal of sleep because of the inability to even get into a deep sleep. Does anyone else experience or have experienced apnea that comes just as you fall asleep and wakes you ? I thought apnea began in later stages of sleep?
Thanks

RE: New to forum and have question
Gatsby, welcome to the forum!
Post a screenshot of your OSCAR data (F12 for Windows, fn+f12 for Mac). It will give everyone a better idea of what's happening. See the links in my signature for organizing your charts and how to attach screenshots to a forum post. You may also want to look into "hypnic jerk" or "hypnagogic jerk". There is a wiki page here on the subject: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php/Hypnic_jerk It typically happens just as you are falling asleep. You may wake up abruptly feeling like you are falling, or gasping for air.

RE: New to forum and have question
Your min may be set to low. The min is the inhale number and many cpaps are set at min 4. That is the lowest the machine can possible go. All of us are different but I that a Min of 9 or above - if not I'm pulling my mask off to get enough air.
As the last person said post an OSCAR charts to see what is the problem.
