RE: Newbie here with questions
Hi Grandmaroses!

As for software, I'm not sure if the various newer Encore products will work for your machine (I think they might)...

But in any case, if you'd like to obtain the EncoreBasic software, you can read how to do that here:

http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...hines-only

(you'll need to be logged into your forum account to access that link).

If EncoreBasic doesn't work, you can try EncorePro. It's a much, much larger and more complex software program and isn't as simple to use as EncoreBasic, however. But if you think you might need that one, send me a PM (Personal Message) and I can point you in the right direction on where to get it.

If anyone knows for sure whether EncoreBasic or EncorePro is compatible with the PR BiPAP AutoSV Advanced, please reply.

Hi Grandmaroses!

I am curious as you are Canadian. Why are you not able to have this paid for?
Wont OHIP be covering it for you?

If you don't mind my asking, are you in Toronto by any chance?

The latest version of Sleepyhead now works with the PRS1 AutoSV that I have.
In the US the full retail price of that machine is about $3600.
Yes, holding the knob down for a few seconds will turn the machine on or off as well as breathing into the mask but it may take more than a few breaths to turn it on.

Hang in there, it gets better. I wonder why your insurance won't cover this?
