APNEA BOARD NEWS - 2022

http://www.ApneaBoard.com

Apnea Board is the world's largest and most helpful CPAP and Sleep Apnea forum. We support the "patient-empowerment movement" (the belief that you are best served when you take an active role in your own CPAP therapy). We've been online for over 18 years!

CURRENT MEMBERSHIP: We have over 94,000 registered members who have made over 440,000 posts on our forums. Last month, we had visitors from 112 countries.

THE APNEA BOARD WIKI: Please be sure to check out the Apnea Board Wiki, as we have several updates and many new articles up now on a variety of sleep-related subjects:
http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/

2022 FUND-RAISING EVENT: We're having our regular fund-raising event over the next few days. If you can help keep Apnea Board going strong, please consider donating to the cause. To donate, go here:

CLINICIAN MANUALS: To get the free Setup Manual for your CPAP machine, go here:

PHILIPS-RESPIRONICS RECALL: In June of 2021, we reported on the Philips-Respironics recall for various System One, DreamStation and other machines. Over the past year, patients have expressed frustration with the lack of replacement machines being sent out in a timely manner. Read more here:
http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...-ONE-USERS
For more info on the recall and what you can do, please read this Wiki article:

For a tally of replacement machines obtained by Apnea Board members, see RayBee's most recent report:

OSCAR Version 1.4.0 has been released: OSCAR is PC-software used for reviewing and exploring data produced by CPAP machines. Version 1.4.0 now supports several of the Philips "DreamStation 2" machines thanks to the hard work of OSCAR developers to successfully overcome the new Philips encryption that prevented end-users from accessing their own CPAP data. This release also includes support for some previously unsupported machines, in addition to several fixes. You can download the new version of OSCAR here:
https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

The OSCAR Help Files are indexed here:
http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php/OSCAR_Help

QUESTIONS ABOUT USING CPAP SOFTWARE? Our Software Support Forum is a great place to ask questions at:
http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Forum-S...port-Forum

ACTION ALERT: Due to CPAP data being encrypted on new Philips CPAP machines, we've issued a call-to-action for our members regarding the alarming trend of CPAP manufacturers using encryption to lock out end-users from their own CPAP data. To find out what you can do to stop this trend, go here:
http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...ge-ACT-NOW

CAMPING WITH CPAP: We're trying to add more information to our "Traveling with CPAP" wiki article - specifically tips and ideas for camping with CPAP. If you have camped with a CPAP machine, please consider helping to add your thoughts or tips in this forum thread:
http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...P-any-tips

FORUM ACCOUNT HELP: We have a dedicated private forum for registered members of Apnea Board. It's called "Forum Account Help" and it's for you to seek help regarding how to use your forum user account. Once you've logged into your forum account, you can see this helpful area here:
http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Forum-F...count-Help

FORUM MEMBERSHIP LEVELS: On Apnea Board, we have different "levels" of membership. You'll progress higher in those levels based upon how long you've been a member and how often you participate in various forum threads. For more information about how that works, log into your forum account, then go here:
http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...-explained

PRIVATE FILES & LINKS FORUM: This is our "secret" members-only forum containing links and instructions on how to obtain several free CPAP software packages and other important files. You'll see the link to this forum (in the "Private Area") once you log into your forum account.Best Regards and may you sleep well!

USING THE "REPLY WITH QUOTE" OPTION:  In order to make forum threads easier to read, we encourage members to utilize the regular "REPLY" button, rather than the "REPLY WITH QUOTE" button, unless there's an absolutely necessary reason for doing so.  Read more here:

Best Regards and may you sleep well!

APNEA BOARD INFORMATION:

Apnea Board was created in 2004 as an open, educational discussion forum devoted exclusively to Sleep Apnea patients.  We started Apnea Board because there seemed to be a lack of sleep apnea forums that were not influenced adversely in some way by commercial interests.  At that time, the main sleep apnea forums were run by companies that sold sleep apnea related products, and their forum operations were affected by disruptive commercialism or over-moderation.  We wanted a place for Sleep Apnea patients to meet that would not be affected by someone trying to "sell us something", so we made a promise to our members that Apnea Board operations will never be influenced by commercial interests.  Apnea Board exists so Sleep Apnea patients can help one another.
