ApneaRx Oral Appliance
ApneaRx Oral Appliance by Apnea Science Available from Sleep Restfully, Inc.

ApneaRx was specifically designed to help provide more cost effective sleep apnea therapy. ApneaRx gives the user an affordable, easy to use, comfortable and clinically effective “transition” therapy for sleep apnea.

Sleep Restfully, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of the new ApneaRx Oral Appliance to their product offerings. The ApneaRx was specifically designed to help provide more cost effective sleep therapy. It is the only heat and fit oral appliance that can easily adjusted by the user in 1mm increments (without nut, bolts, screw driver, etc) as dictated by the new Medicare Product Design Standards. ApneaRx gives the patient an affordable, comfortable and clinically effective therapy for sleep apnea. A simple three step process Heat, Fit and Adjust ApneaRx in ten minutes.

Key features of the ApneaRx include: Advanced Design - Simple unaided mechanism to adjust and maintain jaw position; Micro-Fit - Easy to read one millimeter jaw adjustment for more comfort and clinical efficacy; Posi-Lock - jaw position can be set and relocked at any time; Comfort-Fit - Thermally molded to your mouth in 10 minutes; and V-Flow - Assures full airway flow and device alignment for stability and better fit.

For the user the ApneaRx provides an affordable way to determine the effectiveness of oral appliance therapy as a 1st line therapy. If the ApneaRx treatment is successful, a more customized oral appliance may be the next step. If not, CPAP should be used. ApneaRx is an affordable alternative if CPAP is not wanted, needed or cannot be tolerated. It is a good solution for snoring patients that do not have sleep apnea and travelers and people with colds may prefer the convenience of ApneaRx vs CPAP.

ApneaRx helps practitioners comply with the Academy of Sleep Medicine’s 2006 Practice Guidelines recommendation that oral appliances be the 1st line therapy for mild to moderate or non-compliant CPAP patients.

Sleep Restfully, Inc. prides itself on the high quality customer service it provides to Sleep Therapy and Oxygen customers. Their slogan, “We may not be able to match everyone’s price but no one can match our service” is exemplified by their Better Business rating of “A”. They carry a complete line of sleep therapy equipment and supplies by ResMed, Philips Respironics, Fisher & Paykel and other manufacturers. In addition to CPAP machines and CPAP supplies, Sleep Restfully is your portable oxygen concentrator specialist offering the best prices and support for portable oxygen concentrators such as the Respironics SimplyGo, Respironics EverGo, Sequal Eclipse 3, Inogen G2, Invacare XPO2 and more. RE: ApneaRx Oral Appliance
Every time I read about these things I have flash backs to high school sports. You always had to wear a mouth guard. They were always heat and fit. You drop it in a pot of boiling water for like 5-10 minuets or something, then you stick it in your mouth and bite down. In theory, this sets your tooth impressions and allows the guard to protect your teeth. In reality you mouth peels the next day and you can't taste a damn thing for a week. Is it like that? LOL!
As always, YMMV! You do not have to agree or disagree, I am not a professional so my mental meanderings are simply recollections of things from my own life.

Do I assume correctly that this device requires a prescription and must be fitted by a dentist?

RE: ApneaRx Oral Appliance
I have such a gag reflex, the idea of trying to sleep with something in my mouth makes me, well, gag!
