RE: IS RESMED SELLING DATA TO DR. OZ?
The biggest concern that I can think of is if a hacker does access Resmed's databank, your sleep information will be linked to your name, address and email (and phone if you included) address that you included when you signed up for MyAir. To me, this is a non-issue. The problem is, once you DO sign up, even if you have them cancel your account, your information remains in the system because as with the case of Ashley Madison, your stuff is STILL THERE even if access to your account is now closed. So, your best method to keep your info private is to never register with MyAir. Your DME only has you linked by the serial number of your machine - no info about you.
Now, is any of this important to you? Only two things come to mind - people tend to use the same passwords on every account and they have your email address. So, if a hacker accessed your Resmed MyAir, they may be able to access your accounts that have financial data. Second, is if the information could be damaging to you. There are plenty of examples of people who kept their medical information from employers because they could lose their jobs or be required to submit to onerous and expensive reviews. They are already being treated, why should they take time off of work for a sleep study or regular visits to the doc for something they are already taking care of? Remember, you don't have a disease unless you are diagnosed.
