More Dentists promote oral devices for the money with new marketing scheme
ApneaNews Wrote:From this article, it's apparent that the creators of a dental device marketing program are carving out a niche by helping dentists "cash in" by helping them get their share of the huge sleep apnea market. It's not really about helping people, but, as you will see in this article, it's about "marketing" and getting OSA patients into the dentist's office instead of the DME. This could give credence to those who claim that dental devices for OSA treatment are more about marketing than treatment.

Want More Sleep Apnea Patients? New Dental Marketing Websites From IDA Find Them

Dentists who provide sleep apnea treatment can now set up their own dental marketing websites to promote that specific treatment, and get more new patients into their practice each month.

North American dental marketing leader Internet Dental Alliance, Inc. (IDA) announces its New Patient Marketing Machine™ program that gives dentists control over online lead generation campaigns that find the exact types of patients dentists want. For example, dental practices that treat sleep apnea patients can now easily set up an IDA lead gen website (New Patient Portal) specifically to attract more of them every month.

Consumers who are struggling with sleep disorders often turn to the internet to find solutions. Since loud snoring that wakes them up – or causes complaints from their partners – is how they are likely to identify their problem, they often begin their online searches for solutions by first looking for ways to resolve that. IDA dental websites can easily provide the help these prospective patients are looking for with search engine optimized articles like "Snoring Problems? Sleep Apnea Therapy Can Help" or "Snore No More with Sleep Apnea Treatment".

"IDA knows that the secret to a successful dental marketing website is to have plenty of web pages that answer questions dental patients are asking," says Jim Du Molin, dental management consulting expert and founder of Internet Dental Alliance, Inc. "You can use your IDA New Patient Portal to educate patients about health problems that your dental skills can solve – and increase the number of patients you see each month in the process!"

Since many consumers are not aware that their dentist may be able to help them solve their sleep disorders, educational articles about sleep apnea treatments are especially useful dental marketing tools. IDA's New Patient Marketing Machine™ programs provide pre-written articles on the topic that dentists can publish on their Portals just for that purpose. Dentists can easily add the articles to their Portals at any time of day or night via their online Control Panel. The articles can be used as-is or edited. Dentists can also add articles that they themselves have written.

RE: More Dentists promote oral devices for the money with new marketing scheme
This does not surprise me. Dentists in the US charge incredible amounts for their services. Part of the reason for this is that most of them advertise heavily, and advertising is not cheap.

For example, in my city a simple crown costs $2,000. I can get the same crown from a dentist in Tijuana for $250, where the dentist (a Mexican citizen) graduated from UCLA and buys his materials 50 km to the north in San Diego. It costs me around $250 for round trip airfare and I can go down and come back the same day, plus have half a day to enjoy the city.

He told me that his cost for the materials to make one crown is about $75. So if US dentists charge $2,000 they are making even more profit than a DME sticking a patient with a brick.

Yet one more reason for the out of control health care costs in the US.
