What gives? Aircurve 10 ASV versus CS Pacewave

What gives? Aircurve 10 ASV versus CS Pacewave
Just when I thought I knew what machine I would be discussing at my upcoming appoint, I find this confusion!

I see some Aircurve 10 machines labeled ASV and some CS Pacewave, but they both mention ASV in their brochures. So what is up? It is hard to find the CS Pacewave stuff at Resmed, so is this a highly specialized machine reserved for the most challenging patient? Does it involve special hardware (and higher cost)?

I've been told I need ASV, but the CS Pacewave descriptions say it is the only one of its kind to monitor the patient's minute vent to keep to keep it optimized.

I believe the RESMED USA version is branded as Aircurve 10 ASV, while in some countries (Australia for example) its branded the CS Pacewave.

I think that Pacewave is the European or Australian name for essentially the same machine as the North American ASV. the fields in the STR.edf (the settings) are the same, so I would think that the capabilities are the same.

Ah ha!  That makes sense now Mike. I saw it mentioned on some sites like .AU, .FR, etc. and wondered where the US page.

Thanks.

Yes that's correct. PaceWave is non US version of ASV. Best I can tell it's the same machines with a different name tag.
