New User Questions ASV
Hello all. I have a couple questions for you all as I'm am newly diagnosed. I will be receiving my machine tis friday, and the DME told me I will be receiving an Adapt SV and a nasal mask, and couldn't offer any more details. My question is isn't the Adapt SV an older machine, and can I specify which machine and mask I would like to receive from the DME?
Please forgive me if these are silly questions, and thanks for the help!

[/quote] Welcome. I suppose a lot depends upon whether you are self pay or whether you have insurance or not. Also, what does your prescription say? I personally would walk away from a DME that tells me what kind of mask I have to get. I don't know anything about the CPAP machine you are asking about. Sorry.

Hi ambiguous02,
WELCOME! to the forum.! Do you know if your prrescription calls for you to have an ASV machine? If it does, that's probably why they told you that was the machine they would be bringing . You asked if ASV machines are older machines, there are new models of ASVs out there. Hang in there for more answers to your question. Best of luck to you.

RE: New User Questions ASV
They reuse a lot of their names. It's just the number before it that changes. It should say "S9" in front of it.
Their Adapt SV and the ASV are the same, short for "adaptive servo-ventilator". As long as the machine is silver, it should be the right one. http://www.resmed.com/us/products/s9_vpa...c=patients Before you pay out of pocket for a brand new one, check the prices at Supplier #2 in our Supplier's List. They have open box and gently used models. http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...plier-List

RE: New User Questions ASV
In the ResMed product line there are two models of the S9 VPAP Adapt. 36007 was produced through October 2012 and has the modes ASV and CPAP. As of October that model was replaced with the 36037 that still has the same name. These newer models add ASVAuto to the mode selection which is new category of machine that tends to compete better with the Respironics product line. If you are in the United States and getting a VPAP Adapt look at the back label where the bar codes are for the letters "REF" the numbers following that are where you would see this code. If they try to give you a discontinued 36007 machine refuse to sign anything and walk out without a machine and we will give you further instructions.
If the switch you to Respironics it should say 960P ingraved on the bottom and not the discontinued 950P.
