I think you need to relax a bit...... you made great improvements !

Do you have trouble breathing through your nose when not sleeping? Deviated septums can be a problem. Have you gone to a ENT Dr?

yeah i saw an ENT a few years ago.  i had nasal cauterization performed to reduce my chances of getting ear infections (i used to get them chronically)

the other challenge i have is once i wake up in the middle of the night, i just cannot fall back to sleep.  yesterday i woke up at 130, fell bck to sleep then woke up at 430am, and didnt go bck to sleep.

last night (the night this nostril thing happened) i was up from 330a to 530am (at 530am i finally decided to take off the mask)

There are hybrid style masks that use nasal pillows and a cup covers the mouth. These do not impinge on the sinuses or bridge of the nose. Like pillows, they inflate your nostrils.

I did not interpret your original post as congestion, or I would have suggested flucosone propionate (Flonase) which is my go-to for congestion. I was actually having my nasal passages clamp shut during exhale at one point, and the Flonase ended that problem.

If your nostrils are dry, put a tiny bit of Lanisoh (lanolin cream) on the tips of your pinky fingers, then poke them up into each nostril, smearing the Lanishoh around as far as you can reach. This helped me a lot with nostril dryness. I would think your nostrils would not be able to stick closed with this substance on the surface.

You can find Lanishoh in the baby departments. I get mine at WalMart.

Best of luck with whatever you try!

SR.... P30i has the nare nipples, I think that's the ticket, I agree. Worth a try. When he said his nares clamped shut.... I really couldn't relate. The thing is he has to be struggling to breath through his nose to collapse the nares, deviated septum/congestion would do it? But hey, ya heed something to hold open the nares I suppose.

I use the Resmed P30i pillows mask, and I agree it would probably help keep the nostrils open.
