Not all Cheyne-Stokes Respirations are Cheyne Stokes Respirations

Not all Cheyne-Stokes Respirations are Cheyne Stokes Respirations
This isn’t a question but a thank you. I’ve been on an APAP for three months (not with success in terms of how I feel but that’s for a future post). Last night and the night before for the very first time my OSCAR results showed Cheyne-Stokes Respirations (CSR). Because of this forum I know not to be overly concerned. ResMed records all “periodic breathing” as CSR and the OSCAR software follows suit. I’m confident I don’t have a heart condition because I’m in good health and I had an electrocardiogram a year ago as a prerequisite to minor surgery. So I’m confident the readings weren’t really CSRs.  Or maybe they were but caused by high altitude:  I live at about 5,000 ft (1,525 m) and just spent a week at sea level and then had the CSRs on my first and second nights back. It seems unlikely I would have become unaccustomed to my usual altitude in just a week, and 5000 feet isn’t really high altitude, but it’s a thought. Another thought is it might be the start of treatment-induced centrals. That, too, is just a thought. Or my my settings need to be tweaked. Or many other things. Whatever, I’m not in a panic, so thank you to the people who posted questions about CSR and to the members who gave such informative answers.
