For what it is worth... That has not been my experience (but there are a lot of variables, so I just offer this as one data point).
I was "uber-careful" when I first started using the AS11 (9/23/2021). I would power it off before removing the card, then power on only after inserting the card.
After about 10 days of that, I got lazy.... And started removing and re-inserting the SD while the AS11 was powered on. No problems with it recognizing/mounting the card, and I've been doing that every day for over 3 weeks now.
Also... There is a Blue "card activity" LED (just below the card) that shows read/write activity. When I stop therapy in the morning, I see that light flash rapidly for a second or two -- which I assume is the machine updating the card immediately at end-of-therapy. I can't confirm that, of course, as I normally don't remove the card until about 30 minutes later (after showering and getting dressed). But since starting on 9/23, and pulling the card ~30 minutes after therapy end, Oscar has found/imported the data 100% of the time with no issues. I haven't experienced the problem @SleepyHenry described.
Another test I did out of curiosity... I don't know how much data the machine stores internally, but putting an "empty fat32 format" SD card into the machine results in an empty data structure being created -- and nothing else. No previous night(s) data added to the card. Admittedly, I just put the card in, waited 5 minutes, and pulled it out -- I suppose it could do something different if the card was left in for the next therapy session.
