I don't know lots of things about the treatment of CA, but you can make a new thread about that snd share some data records there is lots of specialist here to help you. Wink

Thank you - I did that already. The consensus was "Get thee back to the doctor, this isn't working". My AHI right now averages around 30, and was over 58 at one stage yesterday. But the clinic were going to talk to my hospital consultant today, so fingers crossed. ?

Roger that.

OK, so the two issues I found are as follows:

1) I needed to try using my older CMS50E for a couple of nights while I waited for the replacement data/charging cable to arrive (today). So while I used the Contec overnight, I used the Viatom for my nap, and that's where the problem comes.

Initially, it would only display the Contec data as that is what I imported first. I tried the file from my PC and my Android without luck. However, when I reloaded the profile (after testing the Viatom data file itself DID work on a second test profile) it's displaying the Viatom data from the nap, but not the Contec data from the overnight sleep.

All of the other days are fine (as none of those has data from both devices on one day, I assume). For reference, it only shows one of the two pulse-ox sessions on the left-hand pane - whichever one was being shown at the time.

2) I know that we're warned to fiddle at your own risk, but I prefer my oxygen desats to be shown as a span rather than a flag. I have tried to set this from the profiles screen, for example, with my database loaded, and the welcome screen, as well on the daily data, but every time I restart OSCAR (or reload the profile), I have to change this to show as a span again. Is that how it's meant to work or is it supposed to remember that change? It's remembered other changes (like slight colour alterations to make it easier to see for me).

Thanks in advance.

RE: OSCAR Problems with times since BST?
As far as I know, the OSCAR code wasn't written to allow for data from different brands in the same day. This holds true for using different CPAP brands in the same day too. It wasn't until the past year, or so, that OSCAR allowed any other oximeter other than a CMS-50 series.

I don't think that the SpO2 parameters in Preferences are tied to anything. I believe that it was an idea that got started and was never completed. It is still in the "round-to-it" file.

Okay, I guess I will remove the nap sats, then, and hopefully, the overnight sats will show up again too, and I'll just keep an eye out for the fix to preferences. Thanks for all your help. Smile

But it's complety different as the resmed. Like you said it's hard to compare I agree with you.

The comment about SoftPAP was not directly related to your pictures.

I suppose what puzzles you in the screenshot from the Prisma is your heart. If you have an unobstructed apnea you will always(!) see (or hear^^) your heartbeat. Of course it looks different from the ResMed: 1st they store the data in different resolutions, 2nd it is actually important if and how much the stored data is already filtered (and depending on the device there is also sometimes 3rd: how that data is 'measured')

Your Prisma uses FOT and ResMed uses FOT. (that's a matter of fact) The only difference there is a little difference in the amplitude of the FOT signal (well and of course what counts as obstructed or not).
Those things are equal ... the difference between the two lie more in the other events and the pressure reaction.

They do things differently, which is not a bad thing. Not everyone likes or endures every device ... some like and need the overtreatment from ResMed others do better with lower pressure as needed - it's a bit like the different "exhale pressure relief" implementations: some can't stand SoftPAP or Flex - others can't stand EPR ... for some it makes no difference at all.

You suppose wrong, I just speak about the repercution of the SOT on the air flow and the data reliability.

But yes I don't know if the recorded data is what the prisma use. I just supposed by reading the chart, imprecision of the prisma event's repport are due to the low frequency of the SOT's signal.

In the fact, the Prisma 20A have a lot of error in the number and differenciating of events. (like I was able to see, and like the repported labs test I could read)

About the difference between softpap flex and epr. Yes of course each person have it's own preference. it a good thing.

In my onw opinion, increase the pressure during the exhalation is just stupid. The idea is help to exhalt, it's a confort option. That why I said the conception of the softpap is dumb. And epr is not perfect but better.

Well, I am afraid we cannot overcome the language barrier. My English is simply not good enough for that.

One last try:

The blue curve is a 4 Hz sinus wave. (16 Datapoints per second)
The orange curve is the very same 4 Hz sinus wave BUT with a sampling rate of 5 Hz (meaning 5 Datapoints per second).

What you see in PrismaTS is the orange curve - beause the 4 Hz FOT-Signal does look that way if you only have 5 Datapoints per second. You can verify that if you look at the airflow (which has a sampling rate of 10 Hz - so you can see the FOT-Response there) - there you will see the 4 Hz response.

That's the thing I meant with "misconception about what you see and what you believe that means"
