OSCAR RESP RATE & TIDAL VOLUME REPORT

OSCAR RESP RATE & TIDAL VOLUME REPORT
Hi Guys

I am just starting to learn about the OSCAR reports.
Am posting a screenshot of my Resp Rate & Tidal Volume Charts and just wanted to get views on whether they are ok or not.
Also, is there any way I can determine the oxygen level from these charts ?

Thanks

Your numbers look good, but I'll let someone else comment on the Respiratory and TV charts.
If you could eliminate the pie chart, then we would be able to see more statistics.

I don't think there is a way to see your oxygen level. You would have to be wearing an overnight recording oximeter.

idk what's normal but I notice your respiration graph looks like mine insofar as generally, it's mostly above the median in the first half of the night & mostly below median in the latter half. I've been wondering if that's normal or if it's the result of the meds I take at bedtime, for example. I'll be interested in the answers you receive.

Respiration rate and tidal volume are not very useful on their own. You will learn more by focusing on flow and pressure/mask pressure graphs.

No way to see oxygen levels unless you use a recording oximeter.

maybe so, Geer1, but no reason not to learn more about those two metrics (all metrics for that matter).

Eishan, some of the most useful statistics on that graph are hidden by the Pie Chart. If you could go to File/Preferences/Appearance tab and un-check the Pie Chart option, a lot more data will appear. Your respiration rate is 15 bpm and have a median Minute Vent of 6.38, so we can infer a median tidal volume of 425 mL. All of those statistics are pretty normal. Keep in mind that ideal tidal volume and minute vent are calculated based on your height, sex and ideal weight, and what is normal for me is probably not normal for you.

What doesn't add up for me is your settings for pressure are 6.4 to 20.0, and it appears you are using EPR 3. Your median pressure is closer to 8.0 cm. We might be able to improve on the OA events with a bit higher minimum pressure.

Minute ventilation may be more useful, as it's TV adjusted for your RR. Normal is 5-8.
Caveats: I'm just a patient, with no medical training.

Does that normal minute vent range correlate roughly to physical size?
Would you expect a big bloke be closer to 8, while a more petite person be closer to 5?

Tried to change appearance to uncheck the pie chart but there is no save button and it reappears with pie chart after I exit
