OSCAR import of Dreem 2 CSV data
The Dreem 2 headband recently added hypogram data to its CSV export format. 

I think (perhaps based on my suggestion) the format of the hypogram is basically the same as the Zeo data that OSCAR already supports (it's just a comma-separated array of integers).

So I wanted to write a simple script to do the conversion.

Does anyone know what the most minimal CSV file I need for OSCAR to handle it?

3. There has been recent talk about the easy route to get SpO2 & HR event data currently in CSV into OSCAR via transforming the CSV to EDF data format.

Thanks for the info. Definitely like the idea of an open format like EDF/EDF+, but man that website is terrible as a way to promote it.

I'm not a user of OSCAR (yet), but I just got my Dreem 2 last night and was looking at the CSV format this morning. The Zeo imports are dependent on the column names in the header. Specifically, the sleep stages should be labeled as "Detailed Sleep Graph". The import loops over this cell and imports as a simple integer. The integers should be space separated for Zeo, which is different than the comma separation of the stage series in the Dreem export. 

Each stage integer in Zeo represents 30,000ms sample, which corresponds to the sample interval in the Dreem CSV. 

I haven't looked at the other fields yet. A conversion script or even adding Dreem as a new loader format into OSCAR both seem reasonable and straightforward.

Incidentally, I sent a support request to Dreem this morning requesting the addition of the sleep position time-series data in the CSV export, as I find that quite interesting behavior to study. Have you found them to be responsive to such requests?

Yes, I got this far, but a simple CSV with that column and start and stop date and time causes OSCAR to crash.

Yes, position and oxygen data would also be helpful.

And yes, I think they're responsive. I asked for the hyponogram export and suggested the Zeo format, and it (well, close enough) showed up a few weeks later.

Glad to hear they are responsive, and doubly glad you perhaps initiated the progress. 

I went ahead and created a conversion script for the Dreem CSV export in python. OSCAR appears to be importing, though I don't have OSCAR set up so I am unable to view the daily reports. At the least, it doesn't crash on import. 

If you're comfortable with Python, you might be able to compare with your effort to see any differences. You may also use this as a base to prune down to a minimal implementation. I did do conversions for the common fields.

It works, except they changed the format overnight. Integers are now self-explanatory text. Am asking them to confirm stability on this. Do we care whether integer or text?

Also, for the record, here's the zeo values:

Occurs to me the sleep stage UI could use some work. Simplest fix would be to have the legend indicate the actual stage, rather than the integer.

They say yes, it will be stable now, and that improving data export is a big focus for them.

I can do basic python, but not sure how best to do the integer to text conversion. Will give it a go later if you don't get to it first.
