OSCAR updated version (Bonjour)

RE: OSCAR updated version (Bonjour)
Goose rider, can you try Pressing SHIFT whilst starting OSCAR this should force it into a software graphics mode which may help the screen draw issues it only needs to be done on one startup

RE: OSCAR updated version (Bonjour)
Sawinglogz:   I did a couple of experiments.

re: dual Flow Rate charts in PDF --- I had two CPAP sessions not yet imported from my card; one for which my corresponding oximter usage was longer than the CPAP timeline (normal for me); and one corresponding to oximeter usage beginning after the CPAP session and ending before the CPAP session.
Before importing the oximeter data I 'printed' a PDF Daily Report for each -- and both had single Flow Rate charts in those PDFs (no surprise).   I then imported the oximeter data for both days, and again generated a Daily Report PDF for each. The session with a timeline that had been extended due to the oximeter data resulted in dual Flow Rate charts; the session with a timelime that was a subset of the CPAP timeline had just the single Flow Rate chart. I can dropbox the PDFs if that would be helpful, but reiterate I consider this a very trivial issue that should be at the bottom of the list of fixes, if on the list at all.

And possibly equally trivial...

re: the "Already up to date" message I get right after the Success message when I import CPAP data from the device SD card ---  I discovered the messages are available at least temporarily in Win 10 "Notifications", and was able to time a couple screen grabs (confirming I was viewing the appropriate Notifications).  For the record-- there is no chance I am accidentally double-clicking the "CPAP Importer" icon, or have a mouse issue.  Soooooo...
As an experiment I tried re-importing from the card after a successful import -- and I get the 2nd message in that case as well, but here's where it gets weird.
The first message on a 'new' import is the standard Success message; and if the import attempt is repeated the Message is "Already up to date" and it shows the data source ("H:", the drive letter for the SD card). The second message, that follows new and repeated imports, is the same for both : "Already up to date" but the source is not "H:" in the 2nd msg-- instead it is the path to a folder where I routinely stash a copy of the SD Card "P-Series" folder, for posterity, before I open OSCAR.
A couple of months ago I did experiment with importing from my backup copy instead of the default ( HSmile so perhaps OSCAR stashed that path somewhere (did not find in Registry); but why the import process would automatically try to import from there right after an import from the SD card is a head-scratcher.

This, like the dual chart conundrum, is strictly in the "FYI" category --- it does not diminish the utility of this great software, at least for me.

Thank you for chasing that down. That explains why you're getting the double import. OSCAR currently only prompts you about the first card it finds, but then it imports from all cards it finds. And it remembers where you've previously imported, so it looks there too.

In theory, it's only supposed to look in the most recent previous location, so if you most recently imported from your SD card, that's where it should look.

...but I wonder if that silent import of all locations is making that second location the "most recent" again...

And please do upload those PDFs where the oximetry caused the oddity in single vs. double flow rate graphs.

Sawinglogz:  Thanks for allowing me to feel less annoying despite my verbose "much ado about nothing" recent posts. Your comments about importing make sense-- clearly it's just something akin to a flag not being set by a successful import.

I'm happy to provide the example PDFs, but they contain profile info I am a little uncomfortable making available forum-wide so please advise if attaching them to a reply would do that; in which case please allow me to use a dropbox instead.

Also: I can submit an entire P-SERIES folder (from SD card) and an O2 Insight Pro data folder if that might assist stepping through the processing (between 25-30mb total) for either little puzzle.

Thanks-- Jim

Thanks for the suggestion - I tried it and it does not seem to do anything, as I had the same problem afterwards.

However, while I could be wrong, it doesn't appear to be a screen draw issue as such.  While it is 'stuck' I can still scroll up and down the page, and in the daily page zoom in and out on the timeline, etc.  I just can't CHANGE the pages.  However all the graphs, Icons, and so on look reasonable and more or less match the screenshots in the documents...

You're right that a reply here would be publicly visible. For this sort of thing we use @bonjour's dropbox:

FWIW, I have found an online tool called PDF-Zorro that allows a certain amount of minimal editing of PDF files...  (Duck-Duck for it, no link in accordance w/ board rules)  It is sort of like a paint program in terms of using it...   Among other things it has an 'eraser' brush that lets you remove parts of a page and leave the rest...  The claim is that it keeps no records on their server.  Basically you upload a file to the site, edit it, download it (make sure to use a different name to avoid overwriting the original) and then delete the original from the site....

I was able to use it when posting my sleep studies here to remove the personal info like name, address, Patient ID and so on....  I am sure that you could use it to blank out the bits about you that you want to keep private w/o reducing the usefulness of the files....

RE: OSCAR updated version (Bonjour)
I just did some more experimenting - As mentioned I can't change pages with either the tabs at the top, or the navigation bar.  However I did find that I can switch pages with F5, F6, etc...  I also can do a screenshot w/ F12.

I still can't switch days on the Daily page.

While trying to set up the graphs for doing a screenshot, I found a minor bug / anti-feature in the Y-Axis over-ride function...
For whatever reason, it shows the min/max value boxes as three digit decimal values (i.e. 1.00) but it did NOT allow me to set the value past the decimal point - I wanted to change a couple of the maximum values to 0.5 since none of the data went over that and it would have made squishing the graphs a bit less obnoxious....  Is there any chance of putting this on the list for the next release?

Thanks

RE: OSCAR updated version (Bonjour)
I just dropped 4 PDF files. All are Daily Reports.  The two with "5-25" in the filename are from a session with a longer oximeter timeline than the CPAP timeline; the "Pre-" file was generated before importing/integrating oximeter data for that session, and the "Post-" PDF file was generated after importing the oximeter data. You will see the resulting dual Flow Rate charts in "Post-Oxy-5-25-2020.pdf". (I've moved Flow Rate to the bottom)

The Pre- and Post- 5-26-2020 PDF files represent a CPAP session that began before activating the oximeter device, and extended beyond deactivating the oximeter (therefore oximeter timeline a subset of CPAP timeline) --- so, no surprise, the Pre-Oxy import report and Post-Oxy report are identical for that session-- just the single Flow Rate chart.   Holler if you want the data folders dropped.

Thanks -- Jim

Ex-Gooserider:  thanks for the tip. I don't have enough need to edit pdf files to justify purchasing a "full" version of Acrobat, and I expect that utility will occasionally be helpful beyond just this forum. In this case I used the drop box anyway; partly to save time (I'll hunt down the Zorro utility mañana) but also because of the 3-file attachment limit.

thanks again-- Jim
