I can't figure out my positional apnea

Good point!  I've been using the AirTouch F20 FFM.  I find I have to tighten the lower straps a good bit to keep the mask from sliding on my face at night.  I'm sure that tightening is part of the problem.  I've read with silicone FFM you don't have to tighten the straps as much.  But I'm a newbie, still learning.

RE: I can't figure out my positional apnea
I've mainly had Resmed in my collection and I think their cushion designs could be more accomodating. I usually have issues with leaks at the top of the mask/nose due to the way it's designed.

N20 mask isn't stable at the top (the bracket loosens) as it easily loosen when side sleeping and resperonics wisp doesn't do that as it has a better cushion design. Same for F20 when I first got it.

I don't believe I have the F20 tightened too hard.

Cathyf, as far as neck stuff and positional apnea, I'd like to see how it works, so I'd like to see research done on that for precise answers. Same for jaw interactions and FFM.

RE: I can't figure out my positional apnea
Until now, I've not seen signs of positional apnea with nasal mask usage, but this morning I've tried swapping a pillow that's similar to a typical CPAP pillow (high profile), and got clusters of OA.  The whole night I have absolutely no OA until this last part of my sleep, and it's due to the different pillow I swapped it with (see image below).

I wonder why there's not much flow limitations under where the clusters of OA is?

IMO the ResMed F20 mask isn't as good as I'd hoped when first introduced to it a few years ago. That's why I've moved on to a Fisher and Paykel Vitera.

On the F20, I've tried AirFit silicone and AirTouch memory foam, in small, medium, and large. No go. The continual leakage encourages too tight straps. Try another to replace it and don't look back.

SarcasticDave94:   I've had leaks with the Airtouch F20.  I just got the Vitera and Quattro Air to try today.  Hoping either of those will be a bit more comfortable.

The Vitera should be good, just adjust it loose and low on your face.

Do you adjust the forehead straps a little tighter than the lower straps?  Have you ever used a liner with the Vitera?

RE: I can't figure out my positional apnea
All straps should be fairly loose. I've not used liners before.
