Lead in drinking water would be entirely an ingestion risk from cooking and drinking. You may shower and wash items in that water without any risk of exposure. Lead is not absorbed or inhaled in toxic levels at these low concentrations, and residues remaining on items washed in that water will hot harm you.
If you are concerned about lead in drinking water, your public health department can help you obtain no-cost testing so you can evaluate the actual risk. Any public building where lead pipes, fixtures or solder are in a condition that pose a health risk may be ordered to abate the risk by providing drinking water, or removing the hazard. Keep in mind municipal water supplies are designed to be non-corrosive so as not to leach lead oxide from old pipes. In most cases, lead pipes are not a hazard unless water quality changes, as happened in Flint, MI. Testing can be done to confirm the Pb levels at your tap are acceptable. An inexpensive NSF rated water filter can provide a lot of peace of mind.
