Oscar crashing when importong from oxymeter
Hello.

When I'm importing data from my oxymeter, Oscar crashes.

I'm using a Contex CMS50I, Oscar 1.31, CPAP resmed Airsens 10, Ubuntu 21.04.
Oscar is conected to the oxymeter, and lists all the sessions recorded on the oxymeter.
I can select and ask to import one session.

In the debug window, I see that OSCAR is receiving data from the oxymeter.
At the end of importation, Oscar requests me to synchronise, the start time of the session in the oxymeter and the session from the CPAP.
The calendar shows no date.
And then it crashes.

If I import data from a file saved on the computer, I get the calendar and can successfully synchronize and import the data.

I have modified in the preference the graphic engine of Oscar, but no effect.

Does any body would have an idea?
Does anyone succed in importing directly from a CMS50I under Ubuntu (or Other distributions)?

Regards

RE: Oscar crashing when importong from oxymeter
Hi J Francois! - Welcome

How new is your oximeter? If it is less than about 2-years old, then its firmware may not allow a direct import into OSCAR. Contec changed the communication protocols in the newer firmware, and OSCAR currently doesn't have them. The only way will be to import the "SpO2" file.

Oops, it shouldn't do that! Please send us a zip of OSCAR's diagnostic logs. Within OSCAR: Help > Troubleshooting > Create zip of OSCAR diagnostic logs

Then upload the resulting zip to https://www.dropbox.com/request/REp6AH7LCGyeOcXfOokH

That should let me replicate the crash and figure out what's going on.

Crimson, thank you for your reply.

On the back of my oxymeter is what appears to be a manufacturing date: December 2020.
I bought it on AliExpress by june 2021, which makes the date consistent.

The oxymeters shows a hardware version 2.0 and software version 2.0.
I need version 3.7 of the firmware?

If so, do you know if there is a solution to flash the firmware (solution including usb to serial such as rs-232 is ok for me)?

Do you know wether it is possible to buy another oxymeter beiing sure of the firmaware version?

RE: Oscar crashing when importong from oxymeter
J Francois - The version 3.7 firmware mentioned in the Oximeter Import page refers to the version 1 hardware that was sold before 2020. Apparently when Contec bumped the hardware version, they reset the software version, which leads to much confusion.

I wasn't aware of a CMS50I using the new hardware; so far we have not been able to support the new version of the CMS50F with direct import. The SpO2 file import works, but requires using the Windows software.

Would you tell us the device's manufacture and product ID reported by lsusb, please? Just plug it in and type 'lsusb' in a terminal.

J Francois - pholynyk responded with what I was going to tell you. You do have the latest version. Contec just made it confusing for the end user.

RE: Oscar crashing when importong from oxymeter
The logs they uploaded show that it is a CMS50I using the old 3.7 protocol - at least one of the logs. I haven't yet gone through all of them. The version numbering is indeed confusing, although the 50I may well have different versions from the 50F.
