OSCAR-Selecting a File
#11
RE: OSCAR-Selecting a File
It shouldn't be trying to create the SD card... Have you created the data folder - usually /home/.../Documents/OSCAR_Data ?
Of course, you probably don't have any SleepyHead data to copy over, but you have to create a data folder so OSCAR can store its database and backup files. Then you have to create a Profile. Also unless you gave Linux a hughe disk allocation, you should go into Preferences and tell it not to import before some date that will give you a month or two or three of history.

Oops. I just re-read the thread, and I see you have the profile, so ignore all that.

would you go to Help -> Troubleshooting -> Create zip of OSCAR diagnostic logs to zip up the diagnostic pane content and upload it to Guy's Dropbox folder: https://www.dropbox.com/request/REp6AH7LCGyeOcXfOokH

Include your username in the zip filename so we can know what to look for. Thanks

RE: OSCAR-Selecting a File
I had a thought last night and just checked it out. I have always inserted my SD card into the reader, and the reader into the USB port before I started OSCAR. I just tried opening OSCAR without the reader or card plugged in. Lo and behold, I get /mnt/chromeos/removable/SDCARD Then I inserted my SD card and nothing happened until I clicked on 'removable' up in the top of the file selector. Then the name of my SD card showed up. I selected it and clicked Open, and away it went.

This seems to be peculiar to Chromeos, and I haven't noticed that with my Linux box.

And when I inserted the reader with SD card during the 20 second scan, it was found and the confirmation box opened up.
