Apnea Board Monitor

Not too long after the passing of our Forum Monitor JustMongo (see here), I again have the sad duty of informing our membership of the passing of yet another forum staff member, PaytonA.

Payton had been absent from the forum for over a month and the staff has been expressing concern for him.  We attempted to contact him but got no reply until his son answered a letter I recently sent to him, quoted below (with the family name removed to protect their privacy):

Quote:To Whom This May Concern on the Apnea Board:

My name is Erik A., son of Payton A. who was a participant on your board.  My mother received your correspondence to my dad on October 27, 2017.  I am saddened to inform you that my father recently lost his battle with lung cancer and passed away on 9/23/2017.

I know that my dad loved to participate on the board and with it's members so, I thank you all for being his fellow brothers and sisters who shared a common interest in relation to Apnea.

Thank you once again for reaching out to my father in an attempt to make sure he was okay.   While we are saddened for our loss we find peace in the fact that my father is not suffering and has found eternal peace.

Best Regards,

Erik A.

PaytonA joined Apnea Board in December of 2013.  Because of his helpfulness to so many people on the forum, Payton was asked to serve as a forum Advisory Member and later accepted a volunteer staff position as an Apnea Board Monitor in August of 2015.

I can't say enough good things about Payton's service to the forum here.  He had a great sense of humor and was always willing to jump in and help anyone he could.  His positive attitude and solid advice was reassuring to many here-- and this place will not be the same without him.

Payton, my friend, we will miss you!  May you rest in peace and THANK YOU for all you did to help make Apnea Board a great place.

Wow. This is so sad. I too was wondering where he had been. I always looked forward to reading his posts. He was extremely helpful to me when I first started out here asking questions. I wish we had a way of knowing when our brethren are suffering so we could say these things to them directly. If you can SS please pass our thoughts, prayers, and well wishes to Erik A and his mother. RIP Payton A. You did good my friend. Thank you for your help.

Saddened by this news, obviously. We've lost another good guy here. PaytonA, you will be missed. Sincere condolences to his family. Goodbye friend.

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
  • Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
  • let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
  • gently suck to form a light vacuum
Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night

Yes, boss, if you'd be reaching back to his family, include my condolences.
