Philips Respironics issue?

Philips Respironics issue?
https://www.usa.philips.com/healthcare/e...src-update

Can this issue  be confirmed here? Anyone facing any problems as described?

Is Ozone really bad for a machine? Also for other brands?

Extra: Please note that Philips does not mention the name Respironics anywhere anymore...

RE: Philips Respironics issue?
This is an acknowledgment from PR that it is. ResMed has stated that the use of Ozone and UV cleaners voids the warranty.
It has long been acknowledged that Ozone and UV light degrades materials such as foam and many forms of plastics but this has never been a concern for CPAP's because there was no source for ozone and UV required leaving your machine exposed to sunlight for an extended time.

This became a problem with the advent of the CPAP 'cleaners' such as SoClean. With these new machines, a source of ozone and UV light became available and heavily marketed to CPAP users.

Other than a 5 year phaseout as the new PR DS2 roles in, will PR do anything else?

I have never experienced this. But I also don't use ozone nor UV to clean any of my CPAP stuff.

Everyone has experienced this with UV. What happens to the plastic toy, tool, chair that is out in the sun for years?
