They're not sure of the mechanism yet, but one theory is that since we do most of our healing & cleansing during sleep, that those of us with disrupted sleep aren't doing as good a job of clearing out the protein buildups in the brain which can become beta-amyloid plaques.

Can you point me tot the actual DATA- I am seeing a lot of hypotheticals but very little actual clinical DATA

Well, clinical data for at least one person: my father.
  • Caused himself his own brain damage due to lack of oxygen, he was declared legally incompetent so I became his legal guardian
  • Caused his own heart valve damage
  • Was so tired that he walked bent over at the waist which caused the retina in one of his eyes to become detached, he had surgery on it and it detached again
  • He would fall asleep at the dinner table and his face would end up in his food

I use my CPAP Every Night!!
Evpraxia in the Pacific Northwest USA
Diagnosed: 44 AHI when supine, O2 down to 82%
Treated since 20 Sept 2014:: 0.7 AHI, Settings 7-15, EPR on Full Time at Level 3
Better living through CPAP/APAP machines!
