BPM:  ok, I’ll adjust the BPM to 16.  Thanks.

RE: Learning mode, can I wait until tomorrow to do the Larning?  Will it be unsafe or something to not do that tonight?

RE: Plmnb - the journey continues now with ST-A.
It's just info for now if it's needed. I would wait to see if current settings go OK. We could try this if it doesn't go well IMO.

(Copied from old thread)

Hi Geer1. (Sleeprider was able to split this
thread for me.)

I believe your speaking of the Va Target Va setting I didn’t realize I could change it.  I read in Sleeprider post a few posts ago, the the Target Va is based on height.  Supposedly this is automatic, or so I was told.  But it is confusing because it can be changed.

Tomorrow?  Rofl.  Mrs. Impatient waiting until tomorrow, your funny.

So, just tried it out.  It smells good at least.  Because I believe we have some tweaking to do.

It doesn’t feel like I am getting time to inhale/exhale properly.  I feel tightness in my chest.

I THINK I can inhale on my time but the machine wants me to exhale sooner than feels natural.  Does this make sense?

If a Target Va did not appear in the settings when you set height, go ahead and set it to about 6.0. Alternatively, you can use the Learn targets function, then screen them to be sure they are realistic as compared to your median values. According to the manual:

To enter target values:
1. In Settings menu, in iVAPS mode select Target Va.
2. Turn the dial to set the Target Va and press the dial to confirm.
The equivalent MV, Vt and Vt/kg are automatically calculated and displayed and the selected
Target Va will now be applied to iVAPS therapy settings.

Will this address my last post?  About the exhaling/inhaling properly during test run?  Meaning the Learning mode.

If you are usng the Learn Targets mode, the idea is to breathe as naturally as possible for the learning period. Personally, I think that is hard to do.  You have to accept the learned targets before they will be implemented.  I'd be interested to hear what you get. Note the minute vent and tidal volume changes as you change aveolar volume, so MV and Vt are familiar terms to you from your charts.
