[Pressure] How to set EPR Levels
#21
RE: How to set EPR Levels
If you have the symptoms of COPD where it is often more difficult to exhale than inhale or limitations on lung capacity, you might wish to consult your sleep doctor to prevent adverse pulmonary effects or oxygen desaturation.

Thank you. I adjusted the pressure to 12 (just had a new study done), used the EPR, with the humidity (I think) set at 80, with pillow mask. Results: Best sleep I have had in years

RE: How to set EPR Levels
I prefer EPR (AFlex for my machine) for a more comfortable nights sleep. I could probably turn it off and maybe not notice any difference but I'm doing OK with it on. Over the last few weeks I've been getting figures regularly under an AHI of 1 and my RERAs are dropping. But most importantly, when I was struggling with PAP therapy using an Icon auto which doesn't have any form of expiration relief, a change to an S9 made a huge overnight difference and I am sure it was the EPR.

Probably because with EPR off you maintain higher airway pressure and your airway does not collapse as much. I dropped it to the lowest and my ahi dropped dramatically. I did it gradually so I could get used to it. Strictly my experience.
