[Pressure] Time to change pressure setting?

Time to change pressure setting?
One month after Respironics System One, a typical night Pressure graph is shown. My Rx is 7.0 but this shows a saw tooth almost every night. (APAP 7-10). Is it time to increase the lower pressure?

The answer to your question depends on your AHI and breakdown of, like obstructions, hypopneas, clear airways, flow limitations, RERA's, and of course how you feel.

You will see that "saw tooth" regardless of pressure. The PR machines do this thing called "hunt and peck" during the night. If you look closely, you will see that it raises the pressure by 1.5cm every so often and drops back to start pressure...hence looking like a sawtooth. It does this to check for events.

What you should post here in addition to the pressure graph is the event graph, flow rate graph, and leak rate graph. Also include the detailed info to the left of graphs.

Your pressure graph looks normal, but a good reason to raise the Min Pressure setting would be if 7 cm H2O is uncomfortably low.

Dear Opal Rose - thanks for your reply. Here are the additional graphs. AHI is very low compared to others, but still feel tired.

Your graphs look ok, a high leak issue around 3:00. Was looking for your medium and 90% pressure numbers. If you check your 90% pressure, (this means you were at that pressure for 90% of the night and under, then your starting pressure should start 1 or 2cm below the 90% number.

You probably are starting at the right pressure, but could be raised to 7.5 or 8. If you do this, then start your ramp higher, around 6. You can also use a flex setting, try at 2, this will help with exhale relief.

You just may be sensitive to pressure changes, and may be waking you up, but you haven't been on Cpap for very long, so give it some time. Smile
