Pressure raises when there is ca events

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Looks pretty clean with events less than 1 AHI. I like the limit on max pressure. Ready to try more EPR?

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Do you think I should change tonight to EPR 3?  Do you think I should also reduce the max pressure to 15 also because of my continued aerophagia, or should we just increase epr to 3 and not make to many changes at once?
Thanks sleeprider.

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Well it will be interesting to hear what you decided last night. I favor one change at a time because it is easier to back-out that change if the results are not positive. My recommendation would be to put in the EPR because I think the lower EPAP pressure will have a greater effect on aerophagia. With the Resmed EPR, you are very briefly at full IPAP pressure. Just look at the mask pressure chart. Either way, we're looking for comfort first and the numbers may follow.

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Well sleeprider,I took your advice and  just raised the epr to 3 and left everything the same. The aerophagia was better, hope this continues.  I hope with time to reduce the max pressure but I will leave things alone for now.
Do you or anyone else know why I see often towards the early morning close to where I am remove my mask for the day why events happen. Look at the screenshopt to demonstrate.  I notice this very often.
Thanks again for all your advice.

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Hi Yankees 123

With Sleeprider's help as with all of us, you are in great hands and going in the right direction. For me, aerophagia made me feel therapy was hard to handle as it woke me up and also made my waking hours uncomfortable. However with aids like the cervical collar helping to reduce AHI and thus lowering pressure, this contributed towards the reduction in aerophagia. This finally was checked with learning to keep my mouth closed with the tongue technique thus controlling leaks and with that, aerophagia.

Think when we are about to awake, we toss and turn and move about causing events which some refer as sleep/wake junk. The 'experts' do not seem to take these too seriously.

Thanks apnea infant.  I definitely agree  with you and see these  cluster of events just before waking up. I really don't pay much attention to it.  Glad that your aerophagia is gone, hopefully I can get rid of  this also soon.

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Our goal with reducing overall pressure and increasing EPR was to give you more comfort through relief from aerophagia. At the same time, your events were mainly hypopnea, and those are gone now too. I agree with keeping this steady for a few days, but as long as your event rate stays this low, I don't see any reason not to eventually rachet the whole pressure range downward soon. Apnea Infant gave you the same explanation I would for pre-arousal events. I think it's pretty common, and not of much concern. Glad to hear you are sleeping more comfortably.

FWIW, excluding the events in the last couple minutes, your AHI was less than 0.3 last night...wow!

Here is my data for the last 3 nights.
EPR 3,pressure 11/16
Autoset algorithm
Response mode. Standard
I do feel better as far as aerophagia is concerned.  Also feel slightly more energetic in the morning.
What do you think the cluster of OA's are on Sunday?  I do wear a cervical collar, anything to be concerned with?
I would like to eventually reduce my max pressure ,but looking at the 95% pressures it looks like I still need the present pressure setting.
Thanks all for all your help.

RE: Pressure raises when there is ca events
Looks great. You can reduce pressure to 15 and see if it helps more with comfort. Once again, more events are at highest pressure, and it looks like you can tolerate a lower maximum. The best results happened in a night where 95% pressure did not exceed 13.7 The events on Sunday seem to taper-off into the apnea which is not typical for OA. Those are fairly long apnea events, and it's hard to say why you have them, however the rate of events is okay. It all looks a lot better than when your pressure was higher.
