New Set-Up First Night Tonight!
#31
RE: New Set-Up First Night Tonight!
I have been using the same machine and same mask for over a month now. I find both quite comfortable and they both appear to be doing a good job keeping my ahi in check.

I did get some blisters on my nose bridge. To deal with that, I started using a band aid brand fingers and toes blister gel guard on the bridge of my nose. That is possibly overkill but the gel guard is nice and thick and stays put and is very comfortable. It does use a very strong adhesive. I've been thinking of applying it to clothes once or twice before putting it on to weaken the adhesive a bit so removal is more gentle. I usually just leave it on for a few days and then take it off since it's designed for multi day use.

Lately I've been setting my humidifier to 3 and I use a tight fitting resmed zipper wrap and a loose fitting contour cpap pillow brand hose cover at the same time. I don't know if the double hose cover set up does anything significant but I think it helps a little bit.

RE: New Set-Up First Night Tonight!

I am only trailing this machine and mask for now and both seem to work very well for me..the mask has hardly any leaks...I havent had any blisters yet....hope that heals up for you...

Ive looked at the zippered covers, but I am going to wait until I get my own machine...and buy it then...

Thats my dilemma right now...I have a couple more weeks to trial this machine and then I can buy whatever one I want...insurance pays.

Do I keep this one? And use what i know...or do I get the latest out there and the Resmed Airsense10 Auto for Her? I keep hearing some issues with the A10....so Im just no sure what to do now....

Second night: slept better than first! Smile

AHI: 0.8
90% pressure: 10.5
Large leaks: 0%
Sleep hrs: 8.5

I put the humidifier to 3 and that was better, and I used 3/4 of a full tank. No wetness in mask. Had a few small leaks with mask, but it's working quite well!

Still have slight headache when I wake up.

Overall I am pleased I am sleeping pretty good with it.

Kakkles,
Sorry, I didn't answer your question, but I see others did. Wink
Your AHI is excellent.
90% pressure..... Just use day 1 when looking at it, because you haven't been on the machine long enough to look at 7 and 30 day averages.
90% pressure means you were at 10.5cm for for 90% of the time or lower.
10% of the time your pressure was over 10.5cm
If your 90% number reads close to your max setting, then you will need to raise the max a bit, but right now it looks good.
The headache should get better with continued treatment.

Check out the Gecko gel nose pads. Basically the same thing but without adhesive. It says the pressure of the mask holds it on. One pad is supposed to last a month. MUCH better for your skin since you are not peeling it on and off the same area. There's similar brands called Nasal Soft and Boomerang.

And on the other hand, if you are getting blisters and sores, then something is wrong. Mask is too tight, wrong size, or something. That needs to be addressed first.
