RE: First night nerves!
This may be peculiar to me... I use a Wisp nasal mask, and when I don't shave for a few days, the stubble allows leakage that I can hear when I inhale. If I ignore it I will wake up to the red frowny face... better to get up and shave the moustache area.
So some (small?) amount of leak may cause noise on the inhale.

Achy lungs...
Hi all, how are my fellow 'pappers'? Couple of questions from tropical Scotland after 40 days of therapy that I think is going rather well.
I've noticed over the last few nights I have 'achy' lungs in the morning. Nothing too drastic and it eases off as soon as I get up. I'm assuming this is a side effect of the therapy and I can live with it - but should I be reducing pressure?
Everything seems to be going well so it's clear that the therapy is working with AHI only once hitting the dizzy heights of 4.97 and 99% below 2.
This should mean I get to keep my license as in the UK, apparently <5 and 5 hours use is the benchmark.
I also now have an appointment for an 'official' NHS test and diagnosis that I'm taking advantage of as well so will let you know how that goes...
Thanks for reading

Also wanted to ask - slightly worried about flow limitations - do I need to be worried?
...and how does one reduce said flow limitations if needed?
RE: Quarky68 Therapy Thread
The requirement in order to keep your license in the UK as an average of 5 for at least 5 hours per night I believe.
I'm well under that but clearly don't want to creep up.
I'm gonna try increasing min pressure to 8 and reducing ramp to 5 mins.
Hoping that might help.

You might want to take another look at your Obstructives. There is sone evidence of positional apnea. They're not too bad, but making some small adjustments may help.
Do you sleep on your side or back? Be sure you're using a pillow that's not too tall as this can cause chin tucking. Some here wear soft cervical collars to help keep their head and neck aligned.

hh9797 here in Ontario my sleep doc explained.....
Compliance is AHI<5.0 provided I use my cpap equipment for a minimum of 4 hours per night. He checked the hours of use on my cpap brick he had prescribed with every visit. (Hours on/number of days between appointments.)
He explained if I wasn't compliant he would yank my driver's license.
He did the world a favour when he retired. Sleep-doc-from-h*ll. We don't have enough family docs here. You need to have a family doc to get a referral; you need a referral to get a sleep doc. Or other specialist. Can't just walk out of his door and pick another sleep doc. When I fired my family doc it took a lot of time/work to get another one.

RE: Quarky68 Therapy Thread
Hey all!
I've recently been susceptible to a perfact mask shaped red mark around my mouth. It's not sore or irratable but does look horrible and my job means i meet people a lot.
I've worn the mask since June and it is only over the last week or so that this red maek has appeared. I've tried Aloe Vera but it's not working...
Any suggestions appreciated.
Ta!
