Just wondering what would happen if in the middle of the night there was a power failure. Would I be in danger of breathing in CO2 with my full face mask? Is this something that can be a potential problem?

Question
I have been on apap for about 5 months now.
Just wondering what would happen if in the middle of the night there was a power failure. Would I be in danger of breathing in CO2 with my full face mask? Is this something that can be a potential problem?

RE: Question
To answer your question; No. The mask has a valve to prevent CO2 from backing up in the hose. The bulk will be expeled through the exhaust port. I don't know of a person that hasn't woken up when the power goes out. . . I'm sure there is probably one, I just don't know them. The loss of pressure and the added resistance to your breathing will (should) get your attention.
The bigger question is, what to do while you wait for the power to come back on.
