One of my ResMed S9 display screens has some acronyms that I don't understand. What does Mv, Vt,and PS stand for?

RE: Questions on acronyms
Hi CasitaWayne
PS = pressure support, the difference between inhale and exhale pressures
MV = Minute Ventilation
Minute ventilation is the volume of air breathed in (or out) within any 60-second period.

RE: Questions on acronyms
MV = minute ventilation = the total amount of air you inhale during a one minute period.

TV or TV = tidal volume = the amount of air you take into your lungs in one breath

PS = pressure support. This is how much the pressure is increased by when the machine cycles from EPAP (when you are exhaling) to IPAP (when you are inhaling or the machine is attempting to get you to inhale).

HTH

oops. We doubled
