You are not alone when it comes to a DME giving out used equipment. The same happened to me in 2014 when first diagnosed. Unbeknownst to me, my Apap had over 700 run hours on it. At the time, I hadn't yet found this forum, so didn't know any better to check on run hours.
After joining here and reading posts, I soon discovered that I had been deceived by my DME. I actually signed a paper stating this was a "new" machine. I guess their version of new and mine were different.
After calling my DME, I explained what I discovered, and asked for a "new" 0 hour machine. They were surprised that I found the blower hours, but didn't argue.
Within a week, they delivered a brand new APAP.
Good Luck with your therapy.
bonjour,
Just want to say "thanks" to you and all others that are helping with this Wiki article. It is quite good, in depth and is very much needed here!
