Request for help in parsing SleepyHead data

RE: Request for help in parsing SleepyHead data
I was told by my dentist I grind my teeth as well. Since CPAP I have not returned to the dentist to confirm if that nocturnal activity of mine has ceased.

Have to ask, in the last year how many times have you not slept with the Machine?

I would say I average around 25 days of machine usage for every 30 days.
in other words, I don't sleep with the machine around 5 days every month.

Sorry but do not mean to be too probing and personal but why would you not sleep with your machine for 5 days out of every month?

Cos every time you do that, you potentially are de-valuing all the good work put in previously.

I don't wear CPAP when I am sleeping over at friend's place or if I am travelling.
But may be I should ensure that I use CPAP in those cases too.

I travelled with my machine to France, Switzerland and separately to Portugal at the beginning of spring. It is most transportable.

I would not part with/sleep without my machine now as I am wrecked without it.

RE: Request for help in parsing SleepyHead data
BTW, one thing I think I should mention about my SleepyHead chart is that, It was taken purely sleeping on my back.

I always sleep on my back with CPAP.

If I sleep on my side, I clench my teeth like a maniac. ( I suspect this is because, while sleeping on my side, there is greater chance of mask leak.) Also to note that I have tried full face mask, nasal mask, nasal pillows and phillips dream wear.  Nasal pillows and dreamwear worked better for me, but again just when sleeping on my back.

Have you talked to your dentist about your bruxism?

I'll second the motion to use your machine whenever possible, and to get a workup on other factors that might be contributing to excessive daytime sleepiness or fatigue.

Regarding bruxism, I have talked to 3 to 4 dentists, and sleep dentists, but no solid break through yet.

Sorry to come in late to this.

Definitely take your CPAP with you when you travel.  It may be embarrassing (I prefer to look at it as creating awareness), but it's worth it.

I have a lot of clenching.  I have a night guard from my dentist, and it helps me not crack my teeth anymore. When I sleep on my side, I position my jaw in a more open position (with my mouth closed), and allow the buckwheat in my pillow to be where it can support keeping my jaw open-ish, to reinforce not to clench.  These help me a lot.
