Liters/minute or liters/second

Liters/minute or liters/second
I just read a reply that said that ResMed considers leaks above 24 L/m. My Resmed VPAP reads the leakage rate out as L/s. I have also seen other places where this difference exists including ResMed's website. Am I missing something? If this is all correct, it means that I should be concerned about my readings from the machine if they are above 0.4L/s, which they are constantly. I have been curious about this for some time but did not get around to asking until I noticed it on a post today.

Best Regards,

PaytonA

You got it right. My S8 reports L/s like yours does, and it's converted to L/m on the ResScan reports.

Mine reports 0.00 L/sec. If I were to get a leak, it would be at the full-face mask seal; and that would wake me.
I tighten down my mask straps until there is no leakage.

0.4L/s is a lot of air leaking. So where is your setup leaking from?
Your running a rather high pressure at 20/16 cm-H2O.
Might be hard to get a good seal.

From S8 manual - Indicative Leak Measure

---- Star rating ------------ (L/s) --------------- (L/min)

* * * * * (Excellent) ------- 0.00–0.18 ---------- 0.0–10.8
* * * * _ (Very good) ------ 0.19–0.26 ---------- 10.9–15.6
* * * _ _ (Good) ------------0.27–0.34 ---------- 15.7–20.4
* * _ _ _ (Adjust mask) ----- 0.35–0.41 ---------- 20.5–24.6
* _ _ _ _ (Adjust mask) ----- 0.42–0.49 ---------- 24.7–29.9
_ _ _ _ _ (Adjust mask) ----- ≥ 0.50 -------------- ≥ 30

Mongo,
I constantly show a leakage of 1.4 -1.7L/m. I am fairly sensitive to leakage and I do not think that is correct. Last night I got a reading of 2.7L/m because the hose came off of my mask and I awoke to the sound of my VPAP pushing a lot of air and I could not find the hose attached to the mask.
