ResMed AirSense 10

RE: ResMed AirSense 10
Mine was like that. I changed the hose to a larger diameter one and set the hose setting in settings to the right size. That quieted the noise somewhat but still not as quiet as I would like.

Mine starts off quiet at 6cmH2O, when it ramps up to my pressure of 14, its very noisy. Not a whistling sound, more a whirring sound as you breathe in and out. Any clues?

So just an update. I contacted my supplier and they told me to bring the machine in which I did. He tested the machine and said that it did sound a little louder than normal and so its going back to ResMed for checking/repair. He gave me one of his rental machines which is the Autoset model (mine is a fixed pressure unit) and it runs whisper quiet at 14cmH2O compared to the newby I purchased. I dont know whether the Autosets run quieter than the Elites but there is a huge difference. Hopefully ResMed can resolve it.

I've been using an Elite model for over two years, and it is still completely quiet. It sits on my nightstand only about a couple of feet from my head. So I think the QA may be lacking, but the design is good.

There is likely no difference in the hardware, just a difference in the firmware, so both machines should put out the same noise at the same pressure. My A10 is whisper quiet. The largest amount of noise comes from the exhalation ports on the mask.

Hi all! I see I haven't been on this board for a year!! Life got hectic.

Of course, now I hop back in when I need something...Big Grin

I have the AirSense 10 for Her with nasal pillows. Will the AirFit F10 for her headgear (catalog #63167) work?

My insurance situation is ridiculous, and so I'm just going online to find replacement headgear.

I hope all is well (or getting better every day) with you!
To all, to each, a fair good-night,
And pleasing dreams, and slumbers light.

Lamsydoats, the mask series is called Airfit, the machines are Airsense. You might want to check out the newer Airfit F20 mask for her. http://www.resmed.com/us/en/commercial-p...t-f20.html

It should be comparably priced from online suppliers or if you are only replacing headgear, you might even check out Amazon for F10 mask components. The mask frames are the same between regular and for her, but the headgear straps are smaller, and the full package includes an XS cushion.

RE: ResMed AirSense 10
I've just started using the Resmed Air Sense 10 Auto CPAP machine. What a great machine. I cannot hear it when it's on compared to the Phillips System One CPAP machine which I was using for almost four years. Arnold

UPDATE
Got it back from ResMed, it was found to have a faulty motor/pump and was replaced. Have used it for 2 nights, the whine is gone but now it whistles at the set pressure. Tried drying the gasket etc etc, cant get it to stop. Ready to turf it out the window.

Update 2
Machine was replaced by the supplier yesterday. It doesnt whistle but it makes the infamous whirring sound. I recorded it and sent it to the supplier this morning. I dont know how to post my own video but it sounds like this. If thats normal, thats very annoying.

RE: ResMed AirSense 10
Sounds quiet and normal to me. Put that CPAP inside the drawer and use a hole saw to cut a 2-inch hole in the rear for the hose and electric. You will never hear it again and it will be better to get it below your head level to avoid drainage of condensate an possible accidental pull-offs.
