ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet vs. Dreamstation for Bad Seasonal Allergies?

ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet vs. Dreamstation for Bad Seasonal Allergies?
I suffer from very bad seasonal allergies. See in some technical specifications that the Dreamstation has an allergy filter but not sure if ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet has that as an option. It would be important to have support for pollen filtering if possible. Am new to CPAP and doing research on getting an new machine/mask bundle.

This comparison shows that there is a pollen filter option for the Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto Philips Respironics DreamStation Auto

Commercial Link Removed, instead search Supplier #14 for auto cpap machine comparison chart.

Any guidance from other allergy/sleep apnea victims?

nope those cpap filters are not to help you but to protect the machine. Usually cetirizine hydrochloride like Zyrtec is the choice for seasonal allergies, if youre not into those sensibility shots that usually solve the problem for life.

RE: ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet vs. Dreamstation for Bad Seasonal Allergies?
There was a discussion here about this point of nomenclature last year some time ... just one thing to beware of when shopping for filters: the phrase "hypo-allergenic" can be (deliberately) misleading. It doesn't mean that the product filters out pollen; it only means that the filter material itself won't trigger your allergy, whatever that might be. (Contains no nuts or gluten.) So it's probably just a regular old filter at many times the price. But something that is claimed to filter out pollen is presumably the real deal.

Also, from a different dicussion last year after the Paradise fire, I (not knowing anything about all this HEPA stuff) was surprised to learn that there's a difference between "HEPA" and "True HEPA", with HEPA being relatively wimpy and "True HEPA" being what HEPA should have been in the first place. Something else to beware of when shopping. (The great thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from.)

People have rigged custom in-line filters using an off-the-shelf CPAP inline filter attachment (just a little plastic gizmo) with a respirator filter (not originally intended for CPAP use), or a piece of one, installed in it. There are details and photos here somewhere but I don't have a thread reference.

Another idea, clumsy but probably effective except for the noise, is to get a big HEPA or THEPA filtering machine, put it next to the bed, and place the CPAP machine with its air intake against the outflow of that.
