[CPAP] Dreamstation pressure too high
#1
Dreamstation pressure too high
I've been using my cpap successfully for the last 2 years. Currently on a work trip in Colorado at 8,000 foot elevation. Machine worked with no issues the first 5 nights, but the last 3 nights, the pressure is going to 17 cmH20 and it's choking me to the point I can't use it.

My typical pressure setting is 8 cmH20 (based on Dreammapper app recordings).

I've changed my filters, tubing and mask (full face Amara view) and still having the high pressure issues. Mask fit it 100%

Anyone else experience similar issues?

RE: Dreamstation pressure too high
I'm not sure, but I thought the machines are supposed to adjust accordingly for different elevations.

I assume you have a DreamStation Auto.  Order a Clinicians Manual for your machine so that you can change your pressure range to something more comfortable, by limiting the max pressure. If you median or 90% pressure is 8cm, then set your machine at 8cm minimum and 13 maximum.

RE: Dreamstation pressure too high
Going to altitude is a problem for some.  There is a form of apnea called Altitude Induced Central Apnea.  That is the first thing I would like to eliminate.  To do that or to otherwise help you we could use a set of OSCAR charts.  See my signature for the Organization links to see which charts are important to include.

edit:  I'll add that Dreammapper doesn't give us enough detail to help.   So download OSCAR and pleas post the daily charts.
