ResMed Escape II data question
I have two ResMed escape II machines with card readers. I am required by the USCG to submit usage data to their medical review board yearly.
Last year, I transferred the data onto a card reader, sent it in to the company who supplied the machine and they sent the information to my Neurologist.
My question is can I extract this information myself and send to my doctor or do you need special software? Thanks for the help.

Hi capnbo and welcome to the board
Do you mean you have the data card (not card reader)
You don,t need special software but if the machine an S8 model or earlier, you need special data card reader
The S8 data card reader can be difficult to track down, the best place on ebay from Israel
The S9 models uses SD card and don,t require any special card reader

It's easy enough to print your own reports once you buy a data card reader and install the ResScan software. However, you will need to ask your doctor if he will accept the reports directly from you, especially since he has to submit the reports to the government.
RE: ResMed Escape II data question
The Escape II only records hours used, no other data. I'd not bother with getting anything else since the data is useless. Unless you just want to keep track of the hours yourself. It'd be cheaper to use a stop watch.

Thank you all for the responses. Yes, it is the reader I need. I will try to locate one. Appreciate the help.

In case you missed my post, your machine only records hours used. That's all you will see on the card. No AHI, no flow rate, nothing but hours. You would be wasting your money.

He's interested in getting compliance information for legal reasons. The card reader will do that.
Whether he can extract the data himself and use it for his legal requirements is a question of the bureaucracy involved. Personally, I have my doubts.

From ResMed's U.S. catalog:
22207 ResScan card reader N/A
22212 SmartMedia card reader II - USB N/A
30942 SmartMedia card - 2 pack A9279
They are still available. If ResMed doesn't sell to the end user, maybe you can find a sympathetic DME (if any exist) who can snag one for you.
