Bad Cold...nose blocked...help!!

Flonase and the SinusGator from NeilMed got me through the early days of CPAP when I was so congested (with a little help from Sudafed.)

Now, I don't really need either of those even -- the CPAP (nasal pillows) are apparently keeping my nose open on its own.

I've tried all the things being discussed here and after years of suffering with a stuffy nose I found something that actually works without causing any adverse rebound effects. It's called Nasacort and was originally a prescription only product but is now available OTC, no doctor's prescription required. According to my ENT doctor, it is safe to use it at the prescribed dosage every day for as long as you feel the need. Two squirts up each nostril does the job for a full 24 hours of relief. Since it's an OTC drug, my insurance no longer covers it but it's well worth paying for.

You are right to avoid Afrin and the likes. They work very well in the short term but you'll end up worse than you started.
