RE: What ResScan statistics are acceptable to show compliance and control of apnoeas?
G'day Mike,

I'm assuming this question is in relation to your driver's licence? The text below is from the DVLA's site, and seems to throw the onus on your doctor to make the call. In general, they will be looking for compliance (eg over 4 hours/night on 75% of nights) and efficacy (eg average AHI below 5.0). They won't normally be interested in sophisticated measures like the ratio of obstructive to central apneas or anything like that.

Sleep apnoea
See Excessive sleepiness.

Sleep disorders - including Obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome causing excessive daytime/awake time sleepiness
The applicant or licence holder must notify DVLA unless stated otherwise in the text.

Further information can be found on the leaflet INF159: tiredness can kill

Apnea Index = obstructive + central + unknown
AHI = Apnea Index + Hypopnea Index

AHI 5 or below considered acceptable results, the lower the better

How you feel is equally important and maybe even more

Determining patient compliance with the S9
http://www.resmed.eu/us/assets/documents...liance.pdf

How to determine the number of days the patient has
completed four or more hours of therapy in the last 30 days
1. From the Sleep Report screen, read the second line Days > 4hrs

2. Calculate the compliance percentage:
Divide the number of compliant days by the number of total of days:
(Days > 4 hours)/(days) Example: 21/30 days = 70% compliance

Edit: You can generate and print 30 days compliance report for your respiratory consultant

AHI and anything to do with hrs used. Not hrs as in 4am to 6am, but 4hrs, 6hrs, etc. And usually they want averages on the time.
