ResScan 6.0.0.9799 Windows 10 install error 1317
Searched, couldn't find anything on this.
Failed ResScan 6.0.0.9799 install on a standard Win10 Microsoft Surface Book 2 system.
Got the error message "Error 1317. An error occurred while attempting to create the directory C:\Users\Public\Documents\ResMed"
Skipping all the details, I had to go to Settings/Windows Security/Virus & threat protection/Virus and threat protection settings/Manage Settings/Controlled folder access/Manage Controlled folder access, and then turn off "Controlled folder access".
(You can get there faster by searching for "controlled folder access" as soon as you open the Settings window.)
Install went fine thereafter. Don't forget to turn controlled folder access back on.
