ResScan compatability

ResScan compatability
I haven't been on this board for a while because I'm getting along with my S9 Elite very well.  What I'm not getting along with in Windows 10; it's the worst OS I've ever used!  Angry  It won't play dvds anymore, and even MS Word won't work unless I pay for an upgrade (to an app I already had!!) Huh   I'm thinking about changing over to Linux, but I'm wondering if there's a version of ResScan that works with Linux.  If anyone knows, I'd appreciate any info.

Thanks

I'm afraid that Windows 10 is the price you have to pay if you insist on using ResScan.

And building SleepyHead from source is the price you pay if you insist on using Linux. (For now, at least)

A good substitute for Microsoft Office (Word) is the free open source LIBRE OFFICE program. It can read/save MS office files.

For playing DVDs, you may wish to download the open source VLC -- just google videolan for the link. And, congrats -- you may be getting a chance to upgrade to Windows 10 (Developer Edition).

RE: ResScan compatability
Thanks for the replies; I think I already knew but was just wishing. I downloaded 5KPlayer for dvds and can live without Word, so no real trouble there. I don't know if I have the skills for Linux right now; maybe I'll buy Linux for Dummies and play around with it. I have to use rescan because I drive a truck and have to make up my own custom compliance reports. I guess I could run both OSs on one machine; I have tons of hard drive space available. Something to look at in the future. Thanks again.

Note that SleepyHead does let you download the data in a csv file, which may then be imported into a spreadsheet.
You might be able to create reports that way, too.
