ResScan or SleepyHead
Is one of the preferred over the other? I have been using SleepHead for my very short time on CPAP. I know my medical support staff use RegScan however, and I wondered if it might not make sense for me to see what they see.
I would be interested in any thoughts on this Thanks

RE: ResScan or SleepyHead
Hi Tiercel,
My thoughts....why not use both? Yes, SleepyHead is easier to use, gives more detailed data, etc, but your doctor will be familiar with ResScan. Another reason is that you can compare SleepyHead stats with ResScan. I do this with SleepyHead and Encore Basic (Respironics machines) for my own satisfaction. Both give me same AHI and breakdown, but one may round off numbers, but they are close.

RE: ResScan or SleepyHead
I've noticed that some doctor's offices regard ResScan as certified software. SleepyHead has a disclaimer that it doesn't have any compliance approvals. Some doctors won't accept its results because of this. I'm lucky, my doctor will accept either one.
Now on to a more personal observation; I find SH to be more detailed and a lot easier to read.

RE: ResScan or SleepyHead
I use both but I supply reports to my sleep doc from ResScan since I know that is what he is used to. I use Sleepyhead for trying to track something down.

I also use both. I believe you can also change your machine settings through ResScan.

RE: ResScan or SleepyHead
Thanks for all the input. It helps a lot. When I get some time I will download RegScan as well, but all I can say is if it is harder to understand than SleepyHead I will be lost. When I first looked at SleepyHead I was utterly lost. I will say that after 11 days that I have picked up a lot, but I still have much to learn about understanding that application.

ResScan and SleepyHead give the same information, it's just presented differently. I greatly prefer SH personally. ResScan is set up for clinic use with multiple patients and consequently has a lot of unnecessary overhead. Far too many mouse clicks needed before you get to view your data. |
