ResScan or Sleepyhead?

I use both programs to look at the info. Seems like sleepy head has better range set up so you can read the info easier, at least on mine the ResScan has larger ranges. That may be adjustable and they both do the job. On the machine I bought used I just deleted the info on the card and all is good. It is great to be able to see what happened last night with the programs as my original machine you wouldn't find out till it averaged it in to a large group of info making it useless. Thanks DocJ, everyone's information is great help for me. Thanks for taking the time to let me know what you think about both programs. I think I will be going with just one for a while and getting used to that before I even think about bringing a second one on board.

You would NOT know all of this unless you visited a good forum like this one and got help from the nice people here (I am new here so I am talking about the good people already giving help.)

It is a lot of information and data to take in at once. So don't; take it in at the rate that works for you, and just relax and stay with that.

Keep learning, but recognize that most people don't have the advantage of help and the knowledge you have ALREADY gained on this subject.

You can get by with only what the DME and Doctor tells you since most people do that, but you will likely do must better by continuing to learn.

Don't feel bad about it taking you some time as long as you are making progress.

I am an information junky, frequently taking on subjects requiring a lot of complex knowledge but just LATE last week *I* was feeling almost overwhelmed by the feeling that there is so much to learn and wanting to learn it all before going into the acquisition appointment (my first machine is not available until Thursday, 3 days away.)

Then the kind people of the forum patiently answered all of my questions, referred me to other FAQs and articles, and re-answered some of the questions that were then easier to ask better until it started to come together.

It's not easy yet, but it is manageable and they (we ) will help you.

Thanks Herb, for putting my mind at ease. I know once I start using one of these program's I will have plenty of questions but I will just take it slowly and all in good time. There is no sense getting myself in to a panic, that will do me no good. One day at a time, that's all I can do.
Please keep us posted as to how you go with your machine.

I like Sleepyhead better than Rescan. It's more user friendly and on my laptop has larger graphs that are easier to zoom in on. I also like the calendar that I can click to open different days.

One day at a time. Try not to get stressed if you have a bad night or even a couple in a row.

Cheers Nozzlenut, I think I will be going with Sleepyhead. By all accounts it sounds the easiest, so that should do me fine and I like what you just said about having larger graphs that are easy to zoom in on. Sounds good to me.

They were both trivial to install and setup.

They both load the SDCard just fine.

FYI: My Windows 2012 R2 Server loaded and ran both -- this is essentially the same as Windows 8.1 so they still work with the newest operating system.

I'm still a dinasaur and running on XP so hopefully if will be fine with that.
I should have gone with Windows 7 because I hear Windows 8 is a nightmare. 8.1 has made it a little easier I've heard.

You must be very clever. I didn't realise you had to pay for program's, that's not very enticing.

Oh, I minded windows 8. We had no choice if we wanted to replace our broken laptop. I just learned my way around it over time. If I had a choice, I would have rather stayed with windows 7. We also don't have word, excel, etc. included in windows 8 and I am not going to buy it
