Resmed ClimateAirLine - with no water

Resmed ClimateAirLine - with no water
Eeenteresting. On the ResMed Airsense 10: I just bought the side panel to replace my water tank, since I'm not planning to use the humidifying. [ I haven't used any for 4 years, albeit on a different machine. Tried it for a week on the Airsense 10, and got sick. I think I'll leave it off.] And besides -- the machine'll be smaller for travelling, at the very least.

But what I find interesting is that -- while the humidity setting completely disappears from the controls [ it must know that the water tank is gone ] the temperature of the hose is still able to be set. So I guess one is allowed to run the hose at a temperature, even without running humid air through it. I thought that would melt the hose, or something.

So there's a new factoid for the information banks. Unless y'all already knew that.

It's just hose temp for user comfort......max temp 86 degrees.......not enough to cause any problems, but enough for peeps that want to breath warmer air.

And despite the fact you're not using pass over humidity there would still be a scenario that the heated tube can eliminate rain out if the machine was operating in an environment with high relative humidity........granted it would be rare, but with really high humidity you can still get rain out which the heated hose could eliminate.

I *have* had a rare night with some rain out, even though I wasn't using humidity supplied by the machine. (Older machine) I don't think it happened more than one night in a row, so I probably wouldn't think to turn on the hose heating. But it's good to know that it's there, just in case. Smile
