Resmed Machine mask settings

Resmed Machine mask settings
I was comparing vent rates on some Resmed masks.

All pressures are from the user manuals at 20cm pressure.

Nasal Masks:

N20 AirFit      49 ml/min

Mirge Micro  45 ml/min

Pillows:

P10 AirFit     49 ml/min

Mirage Swift 49 ml/min

And just to throw two non Resmed masks:

Brevida        51 ml/min

Dreamwear Nasal 40 ml/min

So why was it we set the mask settings on Resmed machines ???

RE: Resmed Machine mask settings
Resmed would never provide a valid answer to the question, "What does the mask declaration actually do?".  I tried playing with it using different masks and mask settings without any noticeable differences.  The only thing that would seem plausible is the compressibility factor of air space between the different mask designs.  The free air space in a FFM would act like an accumulator as opposed to nasal pillows. This compressibility would affect the speed of pressure changes during respiration reversal. . . But what do I know!
