Resmed/MyAir HAS To Be Full Of It??

There may be some reasonable rationale for that. Per Barry Krakow MD one of the signs of good sleep is sleeping the whole night through. Of course there are influences external to sleep apnea that can cause the need for bathroom breaks during the night. It would be a good idea to work on them as a separate issue.

Not to say that MyAir is great just that there may be a reason for scoring treatment stops during the night.

RE: Resmed/MyAir HAS To Be Full Of It??
I find my self using myAir almost every day mostly because of the convenience. The data is automatically uploaded to the web without my having to do anything. I like to check my hours used because it gives me an idea of how many hours of sleep I managed to get, an essential piece of feedback for anyone with even the slightest concern about sleep hygiene.

The AHI and number of mask on/off events is also nice to know, for the same reason. I use SleepyHead maybe a few times a year because I now have my therapy tweaked to the point that further tweaking makes no difference. It took me a long time and a lot of effort to get here, but that's where I am. I just wanted to point out that to me, myAir has good value.

As far as leak reports go, mine are now almost zero, as confirmed by ResScan, SleepyHead, and myAir. So I can't help anyone figure out what's wrong with myAir leak reports, other than to say that I'm not experiencing any errors.

As far as your sleep hygiene is concerned, Sleepster, I would recommend some reading material to you, if you have not already read it. I highly recommend a book called Sound Sleep, Sound Mind by Barry Krakow MD. The book starts out dealing with insomnia and goes on to deal with poor sleep and sleep disturbed breathing. I think Dr. Krakow has some extremely pertinent things to say.

I am getting to the point where I am getting more and more nights where I sleep all the way through the night without even any bathroom breaks.

If you do or have read this book, please let me know what you think.

Just my suggestion for what it is worth.

Best Regards,

PaytonA

RE: Resmed/MyAir HAS To Be Full Of It??
I just started using myAir and it has helped me become aware of of a couple issues I was able to correct in settings. I found many air leaks reported with EPR turned on. I also discovered I do much better with it turned off. I dowloadd sleepyhead and will look at my data in a week but enjoy the simply daily summary score from myAir.

You may get less CA events with EPR turned off, as I did. But EPR will not affect your leak numbers...

I bought the book on your recommendation a few weeks ago. Haven't started reading it yet, but I'll definitely let you know how it goes.

So you are saying that you have been an "old folk" for 50 years?? Just because you have been doing it for 50 years does not make it normal.

.I was doing the pit stop every 1 to1.5 hours during the night before I started CPAP. CPAP got me down to one or two times per night. Since then, I have gotten to the point where many of my nights have no pit stops. And guess what! I am not 20 years old.

+2 on this.  I'm 47 and had to go usually once or twice a night the past couple of years since I wasn't sleeping deeply enough during the night.  Now on CPAP I sleep through the whole night without having to go until I wake up in the morning to start my day.

RE: Resmed/MyAir HAS To Be Full Of It??
In my case, I have peripheral venous insufficiency. This means fluid tends to pool down near my ankles during the day (even with compression stockings) and when lying down, can be get pushed over to the kidneys, filtered, and excreted. It isn't a fixable thing. And not drinking water before bedtime and getting dehydrated isn't good for you either. That is a legitimate reason to get up.
