AB filter in Resmed

AB filter in Resmed
I’ve been using my CPAP for 90 days. I just discovered that my AB filter was set to on. I’ve just been using the regular white filter. What affect does this have?  Higher pressure?

The AntiBacterial filter fits in between the machine and the mask, and does cause a pressure drop, so you are getting a higher pressure with AB on but no filter. I don't know how much higher, though.

By the way, it is not recommended to use an AB filter with a humidifier because the filer gets damp and then moldy...

If you dont have a physical Anti bacterial filter on your machine then just turn it off in the settings.

RE: AB filter in Resmed
Where does one place an AB (Anti-Bacterial) Filter on a ResMed AirSense 10 unit with a Climateline hose?

If you place it on the outlet, it hampers the heated hose feature. If you place it at the end of the hose or under the mask, it becomes cumbersome and annoying? What was ResMed thinking or is this just a legacy feature from the S8 or earlier?

I never considered pholynyk's advice when using one with my S8 ... But I changed it weekly with my cleaning regime.

If you are using the Climateline hose and want to use an AB filter, I think you pretty well have to use a mask that has a shorty hose. I can't imagine having the AB filter right under your nose.
